Another day in paradise...
I love Miami.
I really do.
Last night I went to see my grandma and spend a bit of my birthday with her. She still lives in Little Havana.
When I was heading home, I realized I left my keys locked inside my car. Of course, this didn't daunt me. Just caused a bit of a brainstorm session on how to open the jeep up. Well, I won't explain the exact process I used, but it was pretty obvious what I was trying to do.
During my attempts, this older guy walked by. He remembered me and knows my grandma. He even remembered the jeep was the same one stolen so long ago. Well he stuck around to help me out.
In the hour and a half we were out there inventing ways to get the jeep unlocked, three different cars stopped to help us. All of them said the same "We can open it for like 20 bucks." Hell, I could open it for free. I just needed a bit of patience and the right tools. I kindly waved them off and they left.
Finally we unlocked the door with the suggested technique of my grandma's 80+ year old neighbor. A sweet little old lady who I doubt ever drove a car.
I really do.
