Play it again, Sam

Ok so that line never was actually said in the movie.

Anyway, I just read a weblog from a young lady reminiscing of her HS days.

Naturally, it led me to further remember my own days at MAST.

The fact 10 years has past since I was last there is still a bit rough to comprehend. I have run into may of my old buddies from back then, kept in touch with a few. But none remain a significant part of my life.

Jimmy Buffett has a song (ohh yes we're going back to this format) where he tells a story about running into a friend with a bottle of rum and "wound up drinking all night". Anyway, further into the song he talks about how he "can't look back for too long... there's just too much to see waiting in front of me."

The song, as my fellow Parrotheads know, is "Changes in Lattitudes, Changes in Attitudes".

I know in a few months, we'll have our 10 year reunion. All my friends will get together and reminisce... tell talltales of the last 10 years. What happened to so-and-so... who has children now...

It leads me to wonder if these reunions are really a celebration...

In one of my favorite films, Grosse Pointe Blank (two John Cusack films referended in a row... interesting), the main character returns after 10 years. No one knew where he was. He just disappeared. Is that truly possible nowadays? Thanks to this age of communication its near impossible. One would have to truly unplug.... but how many of us can do that? Even with my horribly bad habts at maintaining a weblog or even updating my sites and profiles, its still rididculously easy to find me.

Love&Luck
